All right we’ve survived 2009. I’m sure a lot of you are glad to see it over. You’ve had to work three times as hard for the same flatline results for your fundraising. You might have to chaulk that up to a victory this year. Things look better for 2010 though.
Charities have had to work harder to maintain what they’ve got let alone add new services. They’ve had to battle less impulse giving from donors and little movement from ceo’s. Maybe the slow moving ceo’s have a point, maybe you have to watch and wait for the right time to put new ideas on the table. One thing is for certain it builds a lot of frustration from your fundraising team asking more of them and giving them less to do it with.
Maybe it’s me….I think we all need to take some time off and come back in 2010 with renewed enthusiasm!?
What trials and tribulations have you and your team faced this year and how did you get past it?
What are you and your community service club or charitable organization looking forward to in 2010?
Onward and upward I guess….

Good post, thanks for the article.
It is interesting because smaller fundraisers have seemed to work well for our community, providing services that people need but may not be in the budget otherwise. The dentists at Libertyville Dental Associates helped set up a team sports fundraiser with the Libertyville, Gurnee, and Grayslake community to provide mouthguards for local sports teams. The unique idea was to give back to the community a service that every athlete could benefit from. This allowed the young athletes to promote their sport to others in a productive and meaningful way, while raising funds to travel for competition.
