I was reading the back page of my mom’s Chatelaine magazine and came across a really unique charity/fundraising event. The editorial staff were getting the ball rolling on their own charity blog (must be something in the air!) One of their staff members had 12 inches of her hair chopped off. Ordinarily this isn’t a newsworhty event but its what they can do with it thats worth mentioning.
This hair was donated to cancer patients and young children who have lost their hair due to the harsh medical treatment. This comes in second to only clickable charites for easiest charitable donation. You grow your hair back, cancer patients get hair; Neat and tidy baby!
I’ve heard of entire schools having their heads shaved or cut then forwarding both hair and donations to these societies. (Which is kinda cool…I’ve heard chicks dig bald guys! This is just a win/win situation for us guys!)
For those who think this is a radical step for them you can also get your hair cut and donate that. The organizations prefer hair that hasn’t been color treated and asks that it be clean and blow dried. Ask your barber to group it in a ponytail of 8 inches, snip and bag it. Some dyed or permed hair is still acceptable. They ask if you have doubts, just send the hair in and they’ll qualify it.
Hair donations can be sent to:
The Canadian Cancer Society
Angel Hair for Kids
Locks of Love
and here’s a list of
international hair donation places
Spread the word.

The barbie doll and baby doll businesses are very successful but there is one problem?????Why are we using human hair on a doll, don’t you think we should be using it for cancer patients???????!Many cancer patients are in need hair, which we no, so dont you think we should be using it for THEM!!Vote PRO for this announcement if you’re voting CON THINK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m a little self conscious about the writing because I just shoot from the hip with it. However it’s getting better and people seem to enjoy the posts for some reason. LOL
