school fundraising for charity Our last post was about back to school fundraising ideas. Lets turn that on its head with schools doing the fundraising.

Charity water is starting a campaign for September called Water for Schools. It challenges schools to come together to fundraise for schools in developing nations. The need for clean water and sanitation is accute in the third world. A lot of kids who are school age are spending the day helping their parents getting food and water so the cycle of uneducated children continues.

Money collected will go towards clean water, clean sanitation and education. You might want to think about getting involved to whatever degree you can on this project. You can improve entire communities with your effort.

Go over to the water for schools page and read up on the project. It’s worth your time.

You might also want to consider fundraising for water with our products. We have water fundraising ideas that can help your school or class raise money for this cause.

Back to School Fundraising For some parents this will be a wonderful time of year ( for kids this will be a time of biblical levels of pain. Sorry gotta be done kids…).

Many schools face strict funding restraints and parents are asked to provide more and more of their childs supplies. This is a squeeze on many schools and low income families. As parents you want to provide the best opporuntities for kids to learn and experience new things.
For some parents this is an added burden.

School fundraising plays an important part of providing the basics as well as giving the kids the extras. Library funding, computers, school sports, band, trips all rely on fundraising help.

The community can throw a school supply drive to gather the essentials for kids. These events can collect pencils, pens, rulers, calculators, textbooks. You can even ask for clothing items to provide gym clothes or winter jackets, hats and mitts.

Once school gets going you can ask The PTO and PTA’s to do a brainstorming session for ideas. Get the kids to participate in the fundraising. Asking them what they would like to fundraise for makes sure they are motivated to get it done.

I saw this little video and thought it was a great idea for our audience. A Sports Fundraiser like this could be put on by almost anyone in whatever country your from. It also helps people keep active and get involved.

We work with sports teams, state and provincial, school or university to help athletes. If you need help raising money for uniforms, equipment, travel or training programs look us up at justfundraising.com and maybe we can help you out.

Did I mention that justfundraising.com works with schools and their sports and music groups to help raise money for their funding?

In the meantime check out some great drumming from the Hampton University Drumline!

See … again I’ve worked music into the blog.
My powers are uncanny!

I found another great link of interest to you. www.goodsearch.com is a search engine that is sponsored from advertisers. All search engines have advertsing income, but a percentage of money raised from goodsearch is donated to a loooong list of charities and Schools.

This idea is so good and easy I’m also adding it to our post of clickabe charities.

backtoschoolOk so a new school year is about to kick off. There will be school sports teams, school bands and interest clubs that will be looking for ideas on how to put on a school fund raiser.

There is so much to this answer but lets break it down into: fundraising ideas/volunteering.

Cookie dough/chocolates/sweets/trail mix/catologue sales – Set up a booth in school where your group can have a flyer of what you are selling. Collect the money, when the order is placed, call it into the fundraising company which sends out the product. There’s no cash out of your pocket for this and it’s a simple process. Did I mention we
have a new fall catalogue out for our products?

School talent shows – How about posting an advertisement around school for band/comedians/story tellers who can help you put on a show. I think this is great. It gives them a place to perform and in trade you can raise money from this school show.

Sports teams versus the teachers – Arrange for the local baseball team or sports team to play the teachers one day. Sell tickets to the event.

Arrange for a BBQ day – Get your band or club to have a BBQ at a local mall. I’ve seen a few of them around my area this summer and have heard that wal mart will let you do it on their property for free! Talk to them to iron out all the details! I keep thinking of all that traffic passing by your BBQ!

I also think that volunteering for kids is a great thing for them. They can meet other people, share interests and develop social skills. Especially social skills! Being able to talk well and interact with people is one of the greatest free benefits to volunteering you can get. Success isn’t all about bookwork but being able to get your ideas across and communicate well.

All right these are a few school fund raising ideas I have. Leave a comment about others you have tried and what has worked for you in the past.
